ImgSqueeze does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or user profiling. We use Plausible Analytics, which is fully cookie-free and privacy-compliant. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking tool.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website owners.
ImgSqueeze currently uses no cookies. Specifically:
| Category | Used? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Essential/session cookies | No | We use a client-side session ID (stored in JavaScript memory only, not in a cookie). It is lost when you close the tab. |
| Analytics cookies | No | We use Plausible Analytics, which operates without cookies. No analytics cookies are set. |
| Advertising cookies | No | We do not run ads or use ad-tracking cookies. |
| Third-party cookies | Stripe only | When you make a payment, Stripe's checkout page may set cookies on their domain (js.stripe.com). These are governed by Stripe's Cookie Policy. |
ImgSqueeze does not use browser localStorage or sessionStorage to persist any personal data. Session identifiers are held in JavaScript memory only and are lost when you close the browser tab.
To prevent abuse of the free tier, we generate a browser fingerprint — a short, non-reversible hash derived from public browser properties (screen size, timezone, user agent, and a canvas rendering test). This is not a cookie, but it is a form of browser-based identification, so we disclose it here for transparency.
Since ImgSqueeze sets no cookies and Plausible Analytics operates without cookies, a cookie consent banner is not required under the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) or GDPR. The browser fingerprinting we perform falls under our legitimate interest for abuse prevention (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), is minimal in scope, and does not require separate consent as it does not constitute tracking for advertising or profiling purposes. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
Since we don't set cookies, this mainly applies to the Stripe cookies set during payment.
If we change our use of cookies, fingerprinting, or analytics in the future, we will update this page and implement a consent mechanism where required by law.
